Ransom Fellowship
spacer I am writing this on November 5th, the day after the mid-term election. Whether you are pleased by the results or unhappy about them, may I suggest a few things? The election is not the harbinger of either the national turn-around you have hoped for or the beginning of the apocalypse you have long dreaded. Democracy works only when good people compromise for the common good. And civility is essential--listening and speaking with care and kindness--if we are to have a national conversation that does not descend into shrill rhetorical posturing.

We don't concentrate on politics in Ransom because we believe that culture is prior to politics. So we try to think about and reflect on the perennial issues that seem to matter most. We hope you'll find the resources we've posted here helpful in that process. Thanks for visiting.
