BY: Mardi Keyes
There are few issues that have generated more political heat and extreme rhetoric; more anger and hatred; confusion and pain, than the issue of homosexuality.

Impatience in Prayer spacer Impatience in Prayer
BY: Denis Haack
God meets us unexpectedly, or so it seems to me. We were at Evensong, and I was looking forward to the homily, which was to be a reflection on a psalm of David. The order of service, however, interposed prayers of God’s people before that, and I found myself wishing God’s people had less to pray about.

Knowing the Invisible, Inaudible, Untouchable God: Between the Garden, Galilee, & Glory spacer Knowing the Invisible, Inaudible, Untouchable God: Between the Garden, Galilee, & Glory

I was working my way through Jeremiah when I observed that half-way through the book, we get some of the key terms that God spoke when he first called Jeremiah...with a surprising twist.

spacer This year spring came late to southern Minnesota, and when it arrived it brought chilly temperatures, cloudy skies, and lots of rain. Whether it is because of these factors or something entirely different I don't know, but 2013 has turned out to be The Year of the Morel. If you have never sampled these delicious mushrooms, you are in for a treat. We've found them on more than one walk in the woods, and so feel we have had a special opportunity to experience one of the wonders of creation.

Morels, goldfinches, a well crafted film, an iris bursting into bloom, a chance for an unhurried conversation in a safe place--such glimmers of hope help us flourish as persons in this broken world. These are the sort of things we are concerned with at Ransom. Thanks for visiting.
