BY: Denis Haack
In a fallen and pluralistic world we are surrounded by beliefs, values, and presuppositions that we hardly ever notice. But noticed or not, they exert a subtle pressure for acceptance.

Faith At The Edge: A Book for Doubters (Robert Wennberg, 2009) spacer Faith At The Edge: A Book for Doubters (Robert Wennberg, 2009)
BY: Denis Haack
Regardless of whether you have lived in the dark night of the soul or only heard of it, Faith at the Edge is a rich meditation on the reality that the God who promises to never leave can often seem, for many of us, frustratingly far away for frustratingly long periods of time.

A Deadly Misunderstanding (Mark Siljander, 2008) spacer A Deadly Misunderstanding (Mark Siljander, 2008)
BY: Matthew Hundley
Christians and non-Christians often find “bridges” into each others lives through aspects of the culture which they enjoy--films, books, music and literature. When a Christian is faced with developing a relationship with a Muslim we may first look for common cultural interests as well; in doing so, however, we miss the most evident “bridge” before us: Jesus Christ.

spacer This year spring came late to southern Minnesota, and when it arrived it brought chilly temperatures, cloudy skies, and lots of rain. Whether it is because of these factors or something entirely different I don't know, but 2013 has turned out to be The Year of the Morel. If you have never sampled these delicious mushrooms, you are in for a treat. We've found them on more than one walk in the woods, and so feel we have had a special opportunity to experience one of the wonders of creation.

Morels, goldfinches, a well crafted film, an iris bursting into bloom, a chance for an unhurried conversation in a safe place--such glimmers of hope help us flourish as persons in this broken world. These are the sort of things we are concerned with at Ransom. Thanks for visiting.
